Luminol synthesis route
Luminol, chemical name 3-aminophthalazide, CAS number: 521-31-3, is synthesized from 3-aminophthalic acid as the starting material. The first step is dehydration of the raw material to generate 3-nitrophthalic anhydride, which has a wide range of applications in organic synthesis and alcohol determination. Then proceed with nitration reaction, which will simultaneously generate two products, 3-nitro-phthalic acid and 4-nitro-phthalic acid. Among them, 3-nitro-phthalic acid reacts with hydrazine to ultimately produce the target product luminol; 4-Nitro-phthalic acid can be used to prepare isoluminol. Separation of intermediate by-products of luminol
